Spell Break Magic Revenge
"A dark boomer shooter focused around witchcraft"
Summary
"Spell Break: Magic Revenge" is a dark boomer shooter with a mystical medieval touch. You fight your way through a dungeon full of witch hunters who want to kill you.
Before you can escape through the hidden exit, you should search for your lost crystal balls that are scattered throughout this dark place.
My first Unity experience.




Design
I created the entire level structure and many of the generic and unique segments used in the dungeon. The goal was to build a mostly linear level filled with combat areas and special rooms containing small riddles.
Level creation was made easier after I set a clear rule: no deep dead ends. This ensured the player never felt like they were wasting time running through already cleared spaces.
Workflow
I started the design process by gathering references, writing a level design document, blocking out basic dungeon segments, and creating a test room for assets and mechanics. Then I sketched a simple top-down layout and built it in the engine with my segments.
After playtests and valuable feedback I uncovered a major flaw in the design and iterated until we reached the current structure. Finally, I focused on the large rooms and riddles before polishing the result.
